Nooky talks on supporting The Last Kinection on their Next of Kin tour
Impossible Odds feat Georgia Corowa, Everything
The new Impossible Odds single, taken from their debut album Against All Odds. Some soulful hip hop to get you through a balmy spring day.
The Last Kinection (feat Simone Stacey) - Are We There Yet?
The eagerly anticipated new single from The Last Kinection. Loving the guest vocals on this from Nay’s former Shakaya partner, Simone Stacey. You can check out a behind the scenes insight into the clip and the track here. The new album drops 28th October, but you can pre-order it here.
Public Enemy - Fight The Power
It’s hot as hell. I’m sitting in my stifling house, sick and procrastinating on the last essay of the year. Need some inspirational tunes! Plus I’ve been wanting to watch Do The Right Thing again…. (after essay I promise).
Gravediggaz - The Unexplained
Probably my all time favourite track if I had to pick just one. Lyrics - amazing. Delivery - amazing. Production - amazing.
Public Enemy: Can’t Truss It
One of my all time favourite PE tracks.
Briggs: The Wrong Brother
Briggs gets me so hype. My high rotation at the moment. Reminds me of why I fell in love with Hip Hop.
Cause we have survived, the white mans world
and the horror and the torment of it all.
We have survived, the white mans world
and you know, you can’t change that.
The Last Kinection: Balooraman
Haven’t posted this one yet. It’s one of my all time favourite tracks. The Last Kinection are an Australian Hip Hop crew. The 2 MCs are Indigenous and this track is one where they really showcase our beautiful, living, surviving culture. Balooraman was the lead single off their debut album Nutches. Balooraman means ‘love’, and the track features lyrics in their traditional dialect.
Their currently working on their new album which should be out later this year on Elefant Tracks.
Only just discovered this video *forehead slap*
South Rakkas Crew: 12
So I went to (finally) see South Rakkas Crew last night after CONSTANTLY missing them every damn time they were in town previously. Highly, highly recommend catching them if you ever have a chance (I’m hanging for an Oz festival appearance hopefully in the near future *fingers crossed*). I’ll try to remember to post up pics later but in the meanwhile here’s the track that got me into them in the first place. It’s a couple of years old now, but it always takes me back to my childhood and puts a smile on my face with it’s sample of the Sesame Street pinball numbers track. (I’ve also previous posted some mixes and tracks that they’ve produced.)
